birth name: kristoffer david knigga
nick name: kris
birthday: aug. 23, 1983
occupation: systems administrator for arrow financial services
marital status: not married and probably won't be for some time

i was born in howard community hospital in kokomo, indiana. i have a brother and a sister, both younger. our family lived in a subdivision in kokomo until i was in the fifth grade, at which time we moved out to the country. to date, i've lived in kokomo, indiana; the boondocks, howard county, indiana; vincennes, indiana; west lafayette, indiana; and bensenville, illinois.

you may be asking, "just how do you pronounce the word 'knigga'?". well, to aid you i've made this little ogg vorbis file. you'll need a media player that can handle ogg, such as winamp.

politically, i consider myself a "little-l" libertarian. i am by no means an anarchist, but i think government, especially the federal government, has grown well past its intended and useful size.

unfortunately, i have not had the opportunity to travel as much as i would like. i've only been to 16 states, two of which were only for flight layovers. the only foreign countries i've been to are canada and mexico.

i enjoy collecting and using interesting things. i have what is quite possibly the only chevy celebrity station wagon ever to come out of the factory with a manual transmission. i have a computer that has four cpus, 15 hard drives, and cost somewhere around $35,000 when brand-new. at some point, i'd like to have my own, personal san. i used to have a pair of cobalt raqs, but they were sold when tim and i sold our company. i fully plan on buying at least one more. i have an ak-47. i have a pistol that may date back to world war 2. i have one of the first consumer minidisc decks available. like i said, interesting things.

i used to co-own a small web hosting, web application development, and technology consulting company.

i like most anything technology related. i like to play games like quake3 and counter-strike.

i have recently gotten into photography. i took a black and white film photography class a little while back. we had to process our own film and make our own prints and everything. while i'm not sure i'd like to stick with film, i would certainly like to get a nice digital slr when i can afford it.

i am a bit of an audiophile. i have a pretty decent stereo setup combining my computer via my soundblaster audigy 2 platinum ex, my minidisc deck, and my onkyo 5.1 surround receiver. i have matching onkyo speakers (with subwoofer) and sennheiser headphones. i rip my cds using cdparanoia and i encode them to mp3 using the "extreme vbr" setting in lame.

i love aviation. i plan on getting a private pilot's license as soon as i have the time and money to do so. on top of that, i would like to get instrument and multi-engine ratings. i was once asked in a job interview, "suppose that someone offered to buy you any real thing you wanted for your birthday and that price was no consideration. what would you get?". i chose a c-130 hercules.

i enjoy beer. i'm not talking bud, coors, miller, or other american-style lagers with very little flavor and tons of adjuncts, but real, good beer. i'm talking things like guinness, sam adams, dogfish head, franziskaner, spaten, chimay, leinenkugel, hacker-pschorr, ayinger, weihenstephaner, samuel smith, young's, and countless others. i'm generally not fond of fruit beers, sam adams cherry wheat for example, but i do enjoy lindemans lambics. i enjoy learning about beer; the different styles, the different ingredients, and how it is made. i would really like to get into home brewing and see if i can come up with my own recipes and whatnot.

now that you know my birthday i'll be expecting gifts. you can find what i want on my amazon wishlist and where to mail them on the contact page.

i sort of have a living will. sort of.

would you like to know something about me not listed here? if you do send your questions to me. i'll do my best to answer them here on this page.

i last listened to Bloodhound Gang - A Lap Dance is so Much Better
